What’s Open on Christmas Day

Most venues in Pemberton close on Christmas Day so staff can enjoy time with family. However, a few options remain available:

Forest Lodge Resort – Chefingo – Christmas Lunch Buffet

Offering a festive Christmas lunch on the 25th.
Bookings essential through the Forest Lodge Resort.

Lakeside Restaurant – RAC Karri Valley Resort

Open for in-house guests, and a few locals have already booked. If any additional seats become available, the resort will advise closer to the day.

Pemberton General Store

Open 8am–12 noon on Christmas Day for essential items, snacks, drinks and last-minute supplies.

Christmas Eve in Pemberton – Santa on the Fire Truck

A much-loved Pemby tradition returns again this year!

Santa has confirmed he’ll be arriving on the Pemberton fire truck on Christmas Eve.
He’ll visit the Pemby Hospital first at 3.00pm, then travel through the Browns Road subdivision before making his way through Pemberton town.
The run starts at the top of the hill, covering all the streets and finishing at the caravan park.

Come out, give Santa a wave, and help spread some Christmas cheer around the community.

Southern Forests Chocolate Co

Closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Open every other day 9am–4pm, including New Year’s Day.

Pemberton Hotel

Open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, closed Christmas Day & Boxing Day.

Pemberton Pedal & Paddle / Pemberton General Store

Normal hours 7am–7pm except Christmas Day (open 8am–12 noon).

Pemberley of Pemberton

Open for tastings and wine sales Fridays 11am–4pm and Saturdays 12–5pm leading up to Christmas.

Other wineries may be open for tastings or dining — most can be booked online. We recommend checking availability in advance.

Tours & Activities

Open throughout the Christmas period except Christmas Day.
Pemberton Tramway, Aerial Adventure Pemberton, Pemberton Discovery Tours and Donnelly River Cruises and all trail transfers continue as usual.

Christmas Day is one of the quietest days of the year in Pemberton. Nature is still open, though — and our forests, rivers and lakes are beautiful for a gentle walk, family picnic or an afternoon swim.

If you need last-minute supplies, the Pemberton General Store will be your best option.

And if you’re staying in or around town, please pre-book meals and experiences for the days before or after Christmas, as availability fills quickly.
