A spectacular new nature-based experience is making waves in WA’s South West this August 2026, with the floating sauna at Pemberton Pool bringing a Scandinavian-inspired wellness escape to one of Western Australia’s most beautiful forest destinations.

Nestled on the tranquil waters of Lefroy Brook in Pemberton Forest Park, the two wood-fired floating saunas invite visitors to slow down, relax and reconnect with nature. Inspired by Nordic bathing traditions, the experience combines the warmth and tranquillity of a traditional sauna with the breathtaking beauty of Pemberton’s towering forests and peaceful waterways.

Unlike typical beachside bathhouses, this unique floating sauna experience is all about escaping the everyday. Surrounded by nature and powered entirely by wood fire, guests can enjoy a moment of calm, wellness and connection in a truly unforgettable setting.

The Pemberton project is the third floating sauna venture by owner and operator Nigel Reeves, following successful launches in Tasmania and Canberra. With previous locations proving popular across Australia, the Pemberton sauna brings this growing wellness trend to the heart of WA’s South West.

“The location is what makes these saunas special,” says Mr Reeves, offering visitors the chance to step away from busy city life and experience the benefits of nature-based relaxation.

The arrival of the floating sauna marks an exciting addition to the region’s growing nature-based tourism experiences, creating a new attraction for locals and visitors exploring Pemberton and the wider South West.

A soft launch will take place on Friday 31 July, followed by an official open day, with further details to be announced soon.

With space for up to six people, the two floating saunas will operate by appointment, offering guests a private and peaceful sauna experience for $55 per person.
